Violin and piano Duo Ingolfsson-Stoupel perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata in A Major, Op. 47 and Paul Juon’s Sonata in D Major, Op. 15. The “Russian Brahms,” oft-overlooked composer Paul Juon (1872–1940) was born in Moscow to parents of Swiss heritage, who later spent most of his career in Germany. Juon’s compositional style is both Russian and German, modern yet folkloric, and always romantic.

Judith Ingolfsson and Vladimir Stoupel are two seasoned instrumental soloists, having each won acclaim for performances around the globe. Together, they create connections, tell untold stories and take audiences on journeys to the heart of chamber music spanning the centuries. The Duo’s multiple recordings have received critical acclaim, and together these artists curate music festivals in both France and Germany. Close to home, Ms. Ingolfsson serves as Professor of Violin at the Peabody Institute.
